Talking about the expected reasons behind such an issue, it seems that the Logitech G Hub software is running the outdated version on the PC in most cases. Additionally, not running the tool via administrator access, maybe the Logitech tasks are running in the background, etc. So, without wasting any more time, let’s jump into it. 1. Update Logitech G Hub
First of all, you should check whether the Logitech G Hub tool is running on the latest version or not. If it’s not running the latest version then the chances are high that somehow this tool is conflicting with the system to run properly due to incompatibility issues. Thankfully, the tool itself can check and install available updates automatically. But you’ll have to enable the automatic update option. To do so:
Open the Logitech G Hub tool on the PC.
Once you’re Desktop Default interface, click on the hamburger icon to open the Menu on the top-left side.
Now, click on Settings from the drop-down list > Make sure to click on CHECK FOR UPDATE at the top-right side.
Here you’ll see the latest available update and install the same with the software version.
Next, you’ll have to click on the ‘ENABLE AUTOMATIC UPDATES’ box to tick mark it. That means you’ve enabled it.
If you don’t want automatic updates then make sure to click on the box to untick it.
2. Exit and Close Logitech G Hub Properly
It’s also recommended to properly exit the Logitech G Hub tool and close it from the taskbar area. 3. Close Background Running Logitech G Hub Task
As we’ve mentioned in the above method, even though you’ve done exit & quite the Logitech G Hub application manually on your Windows system, one or more background processes are still running. Well, it’s quite common for programs on Windows to run in the background so that they can perform better. But sometimes it may not come in handy and you’ll have to manually clear the background task too. Just follow the steps below to do so:
Press the Ctrl+Shift+Esc keys from the left side of the keyboard to open Task Manager. [You can also press the Win+X keys to open the Quick Link Menu and then select Task Manager]
Once Task Manager opens, make sure to maximize the window > Click on the Processes tab.
Now, search for LGHUB, LGHUB Updater, etc tasks from the list.
Then right-click on the task and click on End Task to close it. Make sure to do the same for each LGHUB task one by one.
Once done, close Task Manager, and reboot the PC to change effects immediately.
4. Run Logitech G Hub as an Administrator
You should also try running the Logitech G Hub application executable file as an administrator on the Windows PC to allow all the User Account Control (UAC) regarding permissions. So, the application can run properly because sometimes the Windows system and its security protocols may think you’re trying to run the application without authorizing it. As you’ll have to do this step for the first time only, you can follow the steps below to do so:

Right-click on the Logitech G Hub application on your PC. [Either you can find it on the desktop shortcut or on the Start menu]
Now, select Properties from the context menu > Click on the Compatibility tab.
Make sure to click on the Run this program as an administrator checkbox to checkmark it.

5. Update Logitech USB Input Device Driver
Make sure to try checking out the latest update for the Logitech USB device that you’re using and connected to the PC by following the steps below. An outdated or missing USB driver specific to the Logitech device can eventually trigger a couple of issues with the Logitech G Hub software running properly.
Please Note: The Logitech USB Input Device is a common phrase for all Logitech USB peripherals like mouse, keyboard, controller, headset, etc So, depending on which device you’re using, you’ll have to perform this method. 6. Install Latest Windows Updates
An outdated Windows OS version or the build version can also cause multiple issues with the system performance and the program compatibility. It’s suggested to always keep your Windows system software up-to-date. You can follow the steps below to check for the latest update and install it.
Press the Windows + I keys to open the Windows Settings menu.
Click on Windows Update from the left pane > Click on Check for updates.
If there is an update available, you should select Download and Install.
Make sure to wait for the update process to be completed as it may take a couple of minutes or so.
Once done, just restart the computer to apply changes if it doesn’t reboot automatically.
Well, another thing you should do is to check for the optional updates by following the steps below. Sometimes Microsoft does release a couple of device driver and security patch updates silently under the optional updates section that most of the users don’t know. So, you can navigate there and check for the update too.
- Press Windows + I keys to open the Windows Settings menu.
- Click on Windows Update from the left pane > Click on Advanced Options.
- Scroll down and locate Additional options > Click on Optional updates.
- If there is an update available, make sure to select the update.
- Click on Download & Install > Wait for the update to be completed.
- Finally, reboot the system to apply changes.
7. Run the Program in Compatibility Mode
The chances are high that somehow the current version of the Logitech G Hub software isn’t compatible enough with the Windows system. In that case, you can follow the steps below to run the Logitech G Hub software in compatibility mode.
- Right-click on the installed Logitech G Hub application on your PC. [Either you can find it on the desktop shortcut or on the Start menu]
- Select Properties > Click on the Compatibility tab.
- Under the Compatibility mode section, click on Run this program in compatibility mode for: box to enable it.
- Now, select Windows 7 or Windows 8 from the drop-down list.

8. Delete Logitech G Hub Temporary AppData Files
It’s also recommended to remove the system’s temporary files by following the steps below. These temporary files or folders can eventually trigger a couple of issues with the system performance and program running over a period of time.
- Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard to open the RUN dialog box.
- Now, type %temp% and press Enter to open the Local Temporary folder.
- Here you’ll see a bunch of temporary files > Just select all files by pressing Ctrl + A keys on the keyboard.
- Next, press the Shift + Delete keys to remove all temporary files.
Note: Some of the temporary files can’t be deleted in most cases which is normal. So, you can skip the non-removable temp files.
Once done, you’ll have to delete the specific Logitech G Hub temporary AppData files by following the steps below.
- Press the Windows+R keys to open the Run dialog box.
- Now, type %ProgramData% and hit Enter to open the ProgramData folder on the installed Windows drive.
- Then Delete the Logitech G Hub folder from the list > Once done, make sure to reboot the system.
If it’s not available, then head over to the next method.
9. Allow Logitech G Hub in Windows Firewall Protection
Just keep in mind that you should allow the Logitech G Hub application file in Windows Firewall as a whitelist to allow all the ongoing processes. To do that:
- Click on the Start Menu > Type Firewall.

- Next, visit the official Microsoft website and download the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime.
- Once done, install it on your computer usually, you install a program.
- Restart the system to change effects.
11. Install Microsoft .NET Framework Package
It may also be possible that the outdated or missing Microsoft .NET Framework package is conflicting with the Logitech G Hub software to run properly. This software basically allows different programming languages to more easily communicate with your PC. To install it:
- Visit the official Microsoft .NET Framework website on the PC’s web browser.
- Now, download the .NET Framework Runtime [Don’t click on the Developer Pack].
- Run the downloaded program on the PC.

12. Reinstall Logitech G Hub Software

On Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge, click on the Run button at the bottom of the page.
On Google Chrome, click the up arrow next to the download at the bottom of the page then select Open.
Press the Windows key to open the Start menu > Search for Control Panel.
Open Control Panel > Click on Uninstall a Program.
Now, locate the Logitech G Hub software from the list of installed programs.
Then right-click on it and select Uninstall.
If prompted, click on Uninstall again, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete it.
Once uninstalled, make sure to restart the PC to apply changes.
Head over to the official Logitech G Hub Software Download Link and grab the latest version of the installer for your Windows PC.
Run the installer file, and install the Logitech G Hub tool on the PC.
