While issues with the DirectX version, unnecessary background running tasks, antivirus or firewall software blocking, issues with the startup apps, Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables issues, overclocked CPU/GPU, issues with overlay apps, temporary system glitches, etc. can also trouble you. Luckily, here we’ve shared a couple of workarounds for you that should resolve the issue completely in most cases. So, without wasting any more time, let’s jump into it.

Fix: Apex Legends Keeps Crashing on Startup on PC

It’s recommended not to skip any method until the problem gets fixed because sometimes a common workaround can also come in handy.

1. Check System Requirements

First, you should cross-check whether your PC configuration or specification is compatible with the game’s system requirements. The chances are high that somehow your PC specification becomes outdated or you have a low-end spec which will trigger the game crashing issue. If your PC requires an upgrade, you can do so. You can head to the next method if your PC build is compatible enough.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7
  • Processor: AMD FX 4350 or Equivalent, Intel Core i3 6300 or Equivalent
  • Memory: 6 GB RAM
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon™ HD 7730, NVIDIA GeForce® GT 640
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 56 GB of available space

Recommended Requirements:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

  • Once done, click on Apply and then OK to save changes.

3. Run the Game File as an Administrator

It’s also recommended to always run the executable game file as administrator access on the Windows PC so the User Account Control (UAC) can allow all the access properly. Sometimes the system may think you’re trying to run the game without authorizing it. This is a one-time process for each game. Make sure to follow the steps below to do so:

  • Right-click on the Apex Legends exe application file on your PC.

  • Now, select Properties > Click on the Compatibility tab.
