Fast & Furious 9 races into theaters this May, and here’s every car confirmed in the movie so far. The Toretto family is ready for battle and will pull out all the stops in the newest movie from The Fast Saga, F9. Since 2001, there have been eight films in the main saga and two spinoffs, Hobbs & Shaw and Tokyo Drift. The entire series has grossed over $5 billion worldwide, which ranks in the top 10 of the highest-grossing franchises of all time.
In Fast & Furious 9, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) faces his toughest challenger yet, Jakob (John Cena), a deadly assassin who happens to be his brother. Jakob teams up with a familiar foe and the criminal mastermind in The Fate of the Furious, Cipher (Charlize Theron), to try and take down the family that Dom has fought so hard to protect. The majority of Dom’s crew returns in Fast & Furious 9, which includes Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), Roman (Tyrese Gibson), Tej (Ludacris), Mia (Jordana Brewster), and Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel).
Fast & Furious 9’s ability to adapt is one of the reasons why it’s been so successful. Fast & Furious originally revolved around street racing, but as the years went on, the films shifted towards elaborate heists and plots to save the world. Even though the action has been amplified, an appreciation for cars has been one of the few constants throughout the series. Every Fast & Furious movie emphasizes the craftsmanship and beauty of automobiles. Fast & Furious 9 will continue this tradition as evidenced by the movie’s posters, which contain Dom’s crew with their cars of choice. Here’s every car confirmed in Fast & Furious 9:
1968 Dodge Charger 500
Dom Toretto loves American muscle cars, and the Dodge Charger has been a staple since the franchise’s inception. In the Fast & Furious 9 trailer, Dom is seen driving the 1968 Dodge Charger 500 while narrowly avoiding an overturned truck.
Yamaha YZ450F
As Dom’s wife, Letty is side-by-side her husband on the front lines of battle. She’s no stranger to combat as evidenced in her memorable fight with Ronda Rousey in Furious 7. The Yamaha YZ450F is the perfect bike for Letty’s off-road adventures.
2018 Acura NSX
Tej is the brains and gadget guru behind Dom’s crew. In his Fast & Furious 9 poster, Tej is pictured in front of a 2018 Acura NSX. It’s a major throwback to one of Tej’s cars in 2 Fast 2 Furious, which was a 1991 Acura NSX NA1.
2020 Jeep Gladiator
There has been no shortage of Jeeps in The Fast Saga. Usually, the Jeeps are gigantic and bolstered like Tej’s vehicle in Furious 7. In a clip from Fast & Furious 9, Roman is seen driving the 2020 Jeep Gladiator in the mountains over a collapsing wooden bridge.
2018 Noble M600
Ramsey started out as a smart, passive, and scared genius in Furious 7. However, thanks to her technological prowess, she has become an integral member of the team. Ramsey usually serves as a copilot to other characters during the chase sequences, but in her poster, she’s alone in front of a 2018 Noble M600.
1974 Chevrolet Nova SS
In The Fate of the Furious, Mia was notably absent due to her character arc ending in Furious 7, which had a lot to do with Paul Walker’s tragic death. However, Mia is back in Fast & Furious 9 and by the looks of her 1974 Chevrolet Nova SS, she’s ready to join the team in the field.
Ford Mustang GT350
Another wrestling legend joins the family as John Cena plays Jakob, Dom’s brother. Jakob has a vendetta against Dom and will look to take him out with the help of Cipher. In the trailer, Jakob drives off a cliff in the Ford Mustang GT350, and Cipher catches the car in mid-air with a fighter jet.
2020 Toyota Supra
One of the most shocking reveals in the Fast & Furious 9 trailer was the return of Han. In a Fast & Furious 6 mid-credits scene, Han supposedly died at the hands of Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham). However, Han is back for F9 and his 2020 Toyota Supra is a major easter egg to his Mazda RX-7 from Tokyo Drift.
Pontiac Fiero
Fast & Furious 9 will once again test the limits of what’s possible and impossible when a rocket is strapped to the top of a Pontiac Fiero. Good luck, Roman.
