According to reports, original plans were to release the Portal device during the annual F8 developer conference that was held in May but, the scandals maneuvering  over their heads that includes the Russia bombshell revelation and the Cambridge Analytica data breach that was used to effect the 2016 elections, have no option but to shelve the device till the clouds blow away.

Though, the social media behemoth has yet to comment on this still inside reports claim the large device will cost around $400 and the small one around $300.

The Portal also supports a privacy shutter so the devices wide-angle video camera gets covered. The device will run on AI (Artificial Intelligence) for recognizing the people that are in the frame and shall follow them wherever they go in the room.

After their virtual reality headset Oculus, that was acquired for a big sum of $2 billion back in 2014, this is going to be another new venture for Facebook.
