After announcing its new 3D Photos back in May at its F8 conference, Facebook has made the feature available to all users today.

The new feature uses AI to create a depth perspective that offers a slight 3D experience (via TechCrunch). Notably, the augmented feature is just available for Portrait mode photos, like those taken from compatible iPhone models.

Facebook shared more details on 3D Photos in a blog post:

Users will be able to view the augmented images in the normal News Feed, as well as with VR options like Oculus Rift and more. Facebook says viewing 3D Photos is live for all users, while creating them will be a slower rollout over the next few weeks.
