There are only a few days left for the crowdfunding efforts of Hasbro’s Transformers: War for Cybertron Unicron figure, and Screen Rant has exclusively learned that this Hasblab project - biggest Transformers figure ever - is getting an important upgrade.
This summer Hasbro unveiled the Transformers: War for Cybertron Unicron figure, the largest Transformers figure ever based on the Lord of Chaos, the Chaos Bringer, the Planet Eater! Priced at $574.99 and not available until 2021, this massive Unicron collector’s dream piece stands at 27” tall (or 30” in diameter when in planet mode) and was touted as having more than 50 points of articulation and only available if the HasLab crowdfunding campaign reached 8000 backers. As of now however, there are a lot more points of articulation - and some new accessories!
The hands of this Unicron mega figure will now each have 15 points of articulation (3 per finger/thumb) so “Unicron can better grasp the inferior bots he wishes to devour.” *Note that the images here are of a grey prototype - the final hands will have deco.
And joining the included Galvatron slug figure will be the newly added Hot Rod slug figure, offering yet another snack for the behemoth Transformer, as well as an Autobot shuttle ship. Fans of the lore will recognize the importance of this particular inclusion since Unicron first debuted in the 1986 animated Transformers movie where the brave Autbot Hot Rod defeated him.
Last but but least, this Unicron set comes with a clear premium posable headstand to display his dismembered head in all its glory. The headstand also features posts to pose the included mini figures.
About the Transformers War for Cybertron Unicron HasLab Campaign
Last year HasLab began Hasbro’s crowdfund efforts with the massive Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna) vintage-style piece for Star Wars collectors, and in 2019 followed it up with their first ever Transformers project. That Barge was the biggest Star Wars toy ever made, and it’s fitting Hasbro followed it up with the biggest Transformers piece ever.
The Transformers War for Cybertron Unicron figure is part of Hasbro’s crowdfunding platform, HasLab. Remember, if the project doesn’t reach 8,000 backers by October 6th, the product will not move into production. Also, orders for Unicron will no longer be accepted after October 6th. If you want to add this once-in-a-lifetime figure to your Transformers collection, you must back this project before the deadline. You can back this project at HasbroPulse.com.
Where The Khetanna easily surpassed its 5000-backer goal with 176% success, the Hasbro’s HasLab hasn’t had the same success with Unicron so far. The crowdfunding campaign was initially planned to end on August 31st but was extended to October 6th for a final push. At the time of this writing, Transformers: War for Cybertron Unicron figure still needs over 2000 additional backers to reach its 8000-backer goal.
Fun fact: The previous record-holder for largest Hasbro Transformers figure was the FORTRESS MAXIMUS
