Oni Press has announced an all-new series from Cullen Bunn (Harrow County) and Andy MacDonald (NYC Mech) titled Rogue Planet. The science-fiction horror comic tells the tale of the salvage vessel Cortes tracking a planet known as the Lonely Orphan,  that has no star system but has a potentially massive payout within.

Bunn has a wealth of experience working the horror genre, as he’s worked on series such as Harrow County, Brother Dracul, Unholy Grail, and The Damned among his many titles. Meanwhile, MacDonald has worked on a number of Marvel Comics but is perhaps best known for his work on NYC Mech. Colors for the project will be done by Nick Filardi (The Final Witness).

Rogue Planet is set to be a frightening affair as the crew of the Cortes are about to take on a threat that’s unimaginably nightmarish - that’s without mentioning the razor rock, poisonous vapors, and treacherous nature of the Lonley Orphan. The series will test the limits of what the crew will suffer through in order to bring back a massive payload. Bunn said the series was something he wanted to work on for a while.

Screen Rant has exclusive previews pages for Rogue Planet where the crew of Cortes touches down on the Lonley Orphan. There’s no question the crew isn’t prepared for the horrors they are about to face.

I spent a while kicking ideas around, and I came up with a chilling notion that I absolutely loved. It took a while to find the right artist, and I was so thrilled when Andy came on board to draw this title. I’ve been a fan of his work for so long. He really sold the hostility of the setting, the ghastliness of the horrors our intrepid heroes encounter. And then Nick took Andy’s pages and told stories with the colors. I cannot wait for readers to see this book. There are terrors to be discovered and mysteries to be revealed, if you have the stomach for it.

Did the Rogue Planet crew underestimate things? It sure seems that way. Oni Press’ latest comic is set to hit comic stores on April 1, 2020. For fans of science fiction and horror, you’ll probably want to add Rogue Planet to your pull list.
