The first Geekbench results have landed today for the new 8-core MacBook Pro. Both the single-core and multi-core scores show improvements for the new notebook over the last generation MacBook Pro, with the multi-core result coming close to Apple’s claim of up to 40% faster performance. Spotted by MacRumors, performance results for the new 8-core MacBook Pro were posted to Geekbench today. The single-core score came in at 5879 for the new notebook compared to 5348 for the 2018 MacBook Pro....

J.K. Rowling’s widely popular Harry Potter series is at-last available electronically. The author’s own online Pottermore Shop displays all seven titles in ePub format, and prices vary between $8 each and $10 each, per copy. Fans can also purchase the entire series for $57.54. Conspicuously, Rowling did not make the eBooks available through Apple’s iBookstore. Until now, Rowling shied away from the eBook world for unspecified reasons. Control, pricing, and revenue presumably attributed to the long delay, because most eBook stores often battle for exclusives with conditions, such as set prices and royalty cuts....

Director Edgar Wright releases a first look photo for his new film Last Night in Soho. On social media, the English filmmaker posted the image, and also revealed that principal photography has wrapped.
